ospf add interface

Purpose

Associates an interface with an OSPF area.

Format

ospf add interface

<interfacename-or-IPaddr>

[to-area

<area-addr>

|backbone] [type broadcast|non-broadcast]

Mode

Configure

Parameters

<interfacename-or-IPaddr>

An interface name or an IP address.

to-area

<area-addr>

|backbone

OSPF Area with which this interface is to be associated.

type

Specifies whether the interface is broadcast or non-broadcast. Spec-

ify one of the following:

• broadcast

(default)

• non-broadcast

Restrictions

None.
